Pinboard

Social bookmarking is definitely not at all new. It’s been around for quite some time, but I’ve never thought to actually try it out! This time, I was convinced I should. Being that this was my first time with social bookmarking, I have to say, Pinboard does it extremely well. Everything is well thought out and easy to use. The website loads fast with no hiccups, and you can easily edit and organize your bookmarks quickly, even though it’s fully on the web and it does not sync with your browser. (though they do have the same API as Delicious, so lots of unofficial plugins and add-ons have come about) Pinboard integrates well with many, many different services and applications, including Google Reader, Twitter, Delicious (!), Instapaper, Read It Later, Readability, and even has the ability to bookmark via email if you’re on the go.

I never planned on paying for any type of online service, but Pinboard is completely worth it. (in a geek’s opinion) But that’s the thing, you don’t have to be a geek to use Pinboard. It’s super easy, and they have a great Howto to show you around if you don’t quite get it at first. All in all, 10/10. I tried my hardest to find something I didn’t like about Pinboard, but I could find nothing. Everything is there, ready to go.
